GAMESTOP’S COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY

GameStop Limited and its affiliates, including Jolt On-Line Gaming Limited (together “GameStop”, “we”, “our” and “us”) respect and protect your right to privacy in relation to your entry into the Competition (as defined in the Official Rules) and the related use of the website apps.facebook.com/utopiakingdoms or www.kongregate.com (the “website”). We have adopted the following policies to safeguard your personal information and to protect its confidentiality. Any information which is provided by you to GameStop via the Website or otherwise will be treated in accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 and/or such amending or replacement legislation as may be adopted in Ireland from time to time.

This Policy applies only to the Competition and to use of the Website. It does not apply to our retail stores or to any other channels or websites owned or operated by GameStop that are used for the sale of products or services. GameStop maintains a separate privacy policy for personal information collected with respect to its retail store operations and its other websites.

Please ensure that you read this Privacy Policy before entering the Competition. If you do not read or if you disagree with any aspect of the Privacy Policy or the Official Rules, you should not enter the Competition. Your entry into the Competition signifies your agreement to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy.

To enter the Competition you must access our game, Utopia Kingdoms, from either www.Facebook.com, a third party social networking service or www.kongregate.com If you have not already done so, you may be required to also read and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of www.facebook.com or www.kongregate.com in order to access Utopia Kingdoms and enter the Competition.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU?

At GameStop, we collect personal information and non-personal information. The types of information we collect depend on the nature of your interaction with us. You may choose not to provide us with your personal information. However, if you make this choice we may not be able to provide you with the product, service, or information that you requested.

Information we collect from you directly

When you register for the Competition, we may request you to provide us with the following information, which we will collect and store:

  • Your competition code
  • your age or birthday
  • your first and last names
  • your e-mail address
  • a password and other information that helps us confirm that it is you accessing your account

Information about you received from www.facebook.com

When you play Utopia Kingdoms through www.facebook.com, you allow us to access certain information from your profile for that site. The information you allow us to access is affected by the privacy settings you establish at www.facebook.com. You can control and find out more about these settings at www.facebook.com. For example, we may access and store some or all of the following information, as allowed by you and your preferences:

  • your first and last name
  • your profile picture or its URL
  • your user ID number, which is linked to publically available information such as name and profile photo
  • the user ID numbers for your friends that are also connected to our game(s)
  • the login e-mail you provided to www.facebook.com when you registered
  • your physical location and that of your access devices
  • your gender
  • your birthday

By participating in the Competition and by playing Utopia Kingdoms game through www.facebook.com, you are authorizing us to collect, store, and use in accordance with this Privacy Policy any and all information that you agreed www.facebook.com could provide to us through the www.facebook.com Application Programming Interface (“API”). Your agreement takes place when you “accept” or “allow” (or similar terms) one of our applications on www.Facebook.com.

Information GameStop Collects Automatically

When you use our Website, we may collect the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer and of your Internet service provider, the date and time you access our Website, the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our Website, the computer operating system you are using, the sections of our Website you visit, the website pages read and images viewed, and the content you download from the Website. This information is used for website and system administration purposes and to improve the Website.

  • Cookies – GameStop may use cookies to store your individual preferences and system information. “Cookies” are small electronic data files that websites can store on your computer for record keeping purposes. DOES GAMESTOP SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?

  • Marketing Partners – if you accept an offer from any of our third party marketing partners, we will share your contact and billing information with that specific third party, in accordance with the terms of the offer. If you have previously requested that your personal information not be shared with third parties, but then later consent by accepting a third party marketing offer available through one of our Website, we will share your contact and billing information with that specific third party, in accordance with the terms of the offer.
    Some of these operations may result in personal information collected by GameStop being stored or processed outside of Ireland and, as a result, your personal information may be accessible to law enforcement and regulatory authorities in accordance with the law of these foreign jurisdictions.

We keep your information only as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and to meet any legal requirements. We have retention standards that meet these parameters. We destroy your information when it is no longer needed, or we remove your personally identifiable information to render it anonymous.
